From the pier at Playa Linda, north of Ixtapa, you can take a water taxi
to Ixtapa Island and its wonderful dive sites. These sites contain abundant
multicolored anemones and tubular sponges. In the hollows and cracks of
the rocks you will discover mollusks and tubeworms, as well as a great
variety of fish and many species of abundant coral.

Isla Ixtapa
offers shallow water dives among rocks forming canals and projections
with a large variety of sea life. The beaches are beautiful, great
for swimming, and dotted with wonderful regional seafood restaurants.
Ixtapa Island,
along with Las Gatas, offers the best snorkeling in the area along
with water sports activities like windsurfing, banana boat rides,
parasailing and jet skis.
Dive equipment is available for rent on Ixtapa Island and dive trips are offered to nearby sites. Snorkel gear is available at
a number of rental shacks on the beaches.
